AUA in the News

AUA Moves to a Trimester Schedule – New May 2026 Start Added!

AUA has expanded access to its MD program with a new trimester schedule launching this September. Students can now begin their journey toward becoming physicians in September, January, or May, offering greater flexibility to match their personal and academic timelines.

As Dr. Peter Bell, President of AUA, says: “This trimester reflects our commitment to meeting students where they are and supporting their academic goals with greater flexibility.”

This schedule allows students to start sooner and progress through the MD program more efficiently. With reduced time on the island, they can lower living expenses and, depending on their entry point, may become eligible for residency up to a year earlier. It also enables broader access to financial aid and AUA’s fully integrated Global Health Track, offering stronger support throughout their medical journey.
